Meet the Team

Katie Maskowitz, L.I.C.S.W.
Cropped KT

I am Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the States of New Hampshire (#1797), Massachusetts (#125279), and Maine (#LC21421). I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Tulane University.  I completed my clinical internship at Tulane University School of Medicine in the Department of Child Psychiatry.  I have worked therapeutically with children, adults, and families in home, office, school, and hospital settings.  I received specialized training in assessment and therapy for young children ages 0-6 years old and their caregivers.  My clinical experience includes working with families struggling with attachment issues, child/adolescent behavior and emotional concerns, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, foster care, parenting challenges, relationship problems, and adjustment issues.

My approach to therapy may vary based on your individual needs.  There are different methods I may use to deal with the issues you hope to address.  Primarily, my treatment approach is supportive, strengths-based, and solution-focused.  I believe that life’s struggles are best understood and resolved within the context of interpersonal relationships, and how we relate to the world around us.  Together, you and I will explore the areas of you/your child’s life that are challenging, and I will assist you in setting goals and finding solutions to those challenges.  My therapeutic work is grounded in the following theories and treatment techniques: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Infant Mental Health, Relationship and Attachment Theories, Psychodynamic Theory, and Family Systems Theory.
